On All Saints' Day, candles and wreaths were laid at the War Cemetery in Dytiatyn and on the graves of insurgents in Bołszowce.** The Franciscan Fathers said a prayer, maintaining the tradition of remembering heroes who remain forever in our hearts.

On November 1, the Franciscan Fathers honored the memory of fallen heroes by laying flowers and lighting candles at the cemeteries in Dytiatyn and Bołszowce.

Since March 2023, a project co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage has been implemented, including drainage of the area and renovation of the fence of the War Cemetery in Dytiatyn

This year's Dytiatyn commemorations, held on September 17, 2022, were exceptional. In the shadow of the war that began in Ukraine on February 24, the ceremonies took place without the participation of Polish guests and began with a Mass at the Dytiatyn War Cemetery.

It's high summer at the Dytiatyn Cemetery – renovation work is underway, and at the same time, preparations for the anniversary of the Battle of Dytiatyn are beginning.

Although the end of February brought enormous hardship to Ukraine, we remain committed to preserving Polish cultural heritage. We are continuing our project to preserve the Dytiatyn War Cemetery.

On November 1st, the Franciscans of Bołszowce, as every year, commemorated the fallen heroes. Wreaths and candles at the Dytiatyn War Cemetery and at the graves of insurgents in Bołszowce remind us that the memory of their sacrifice lives on beyond Poland's borders. Let us continue to spread this remembrance and respect for those who gave their lives for their country!

The ceremonies in Dytiatyn began with Mass at the Military Cemetery at 12:00 noon, in the presence of the Polish Army and numerous invited guests. The Eucharist was presided over by Father Stanisław Kawa, Custodian of the Custody of the Holy Cross.

The last defender of the Dytiatyn cemetery honored with the Virtus et Fraternitas medal. Petro Hrudzewycz, a Ukrainian from Dytiatyn, personally received the Virtus et Fraternitas medal from President Andrzej Duda. He was awarded this distinction for his exceptional contribution to preserving the memory of the Battle of September 16, 1920.
