Year-round care of the War Cemetery in Dytiatyn and memorial sites at the cemetery in Bołszowce
The aim of the project is to provide year-round care for an important Place of Remembrance, which is the War Cemetery in Dytiatyn (Ukraine, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast). The implementation of the project contributes to providing a dignified resting place for Polish soldiers who died in the Battle of Dytiatyn and ensures year-round care for the War Cemetery there.
The cemetery in Dytiatyn is located in a rather difficult area, where no mechanical equipment can enter, only manual work is possible. There is no electricity or water on site, which requires it to be brought from a distance of at least 16 km each time.
It is necessary to carry out year-round cleaning works, such as: weeding the green area inside and outside the cemetery, including the access road, preparing the ground for sowing, sowing grass, constant supervision over the facility and maintaining order in terms of caring for lawns and plants (every 2 weeks), systematic maintenance of the lawn inside and outside, removing plants growing on the paved part, removing garbage, weeding the road, as well as cleaning the granite plaques.
As part of the project, necessary repair and security works will be carried out at the cemetery: on the walls and paved steps.
As part of the year-round care, to commemorate Polish heroes at the War Cemetery in Dytiatyn and at the nearby cemetery in Bołszowce, flowers will be laid and candles will be lit on All Saints' Day (including on the graves of November insurgents at the nearby parish cemetery in Bołszowce, including the grave of Ezekiel Berzewicz, which is an important Place of Remembrance).
The project is carried out as part of the National Remembrance Abroad Program.
