The Polish War Cemetery in Dytiatyn is located in Ukraine, in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, near the village of Dytiatyn. It is situated on hill number 385 – the site of a battle between Polish and Bolshevik forces on September 16, 1920.
Access
The cemetery can be reached from the Polish-Ukrainian border (e.g., through the crossing in Korczowa), heading towards Lviv and then towards the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. The final section of the road leads through local fields and orchards, and the route itself is narrower and less paved, but leads directly up the hill where the necropolis is located. This site commemorates soldiers who died fighting for independence and is one of the most important national memorials in the Eastern Borderlands.
