The aim of the project is to provide year-round care for an important Place of Remembrance, which is the War Cemetery in Dytiatyn (Ukraine, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast). As part of the implementation, 101st commemoration events of the Battle of Dytiatyn will be traditionally organized.

101st Anniversary of the Battle of Dytiatyn

The ceremonies in Dytiatyn began with Mass at the War Cemetery at 12 noon, attended by the Polish Army and all invited guests. The Mass was presided over by the Custodian of the Custody of the Holy Cross, Father Stanisław Kawa. After Mass, the Deputy Speaker of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Mrs. Małgorzata Gosiewska, and the Polish Ambassador to Kyiv, Mr. Bartosz Cichocki, delivered remarks. Flowers were then solemnly laid at the cemetery to pay tribute to the fallen heroes of Dytiatyn. The ceremony concluded with a patriotic performance by children from a Polish school in Dolina, Ukraine. It was a moving and beautifully experienced time. As every year, we are grateful for the remembrance and presence at this important place for Poland. The ceremonies took place on September 18, 2021.
